The Body of Christ: Reconciled
Sep 29, 2024 • Bill Klear
Reading Colossians 1 & 2, we find that Paul uses the metaphor of the body in the context of a Christological hymn proclaiming Christ as head of all things. It is unavoidable for Paul to point to Christ as the reconciling head of the church, bringing all creation together under His headship. He does this by calling him ‘the head of the body,’ thereby indicating a relationship of authority as well as of inseparability; leadership as well as nourishment.
