Jonah: In the City (Pt. 2)

The sight of a mighty king humbling himself to the point of personal suffering is rare enough that it becomes a matter of historical record. This is exactly what we read in Jonah 3:6-10, when the word of the LORD reaches the king of Nineveh, the greatest city of its age. But even this is only a dress rehearsal for the coming humiliation of the King of Kings who personally suffered so that we may not perish.
