Journey with Jonah: Overview

The book of Jonah is unique in the Bible as the author intends to communicate the life of the prophet as the prophetic message itself. The story of Jonah is a story of contrasts, distinguishing Jonah’s heart, proud and judgmental against God’s heart, full of grace, mercy, patience and love. The book of Jonah reminds us of God’s relentless pursuit of sinful people in gentle mercy and perfect justice. From raggedy sailors to renegade cities to runaway prophets, nobody is beyond the reach of God’s compassion. This Sunday, we will take the whole journey with Jonah as an overview for our upcoming sermon series.
