In Luke 1:26-38, we are meant to see similarities and contrasts in Gabriel's announcement of the coming of John the Baptist and that of Jesus. If John will be great, Jesus will be greater! And just as Elizabeth offered a great word of praise, Mary will voice a greater word of worship.
