Is there meaning to the story of existence?

Does this world and our life in it have any purpose and meaning? We believe it does. More than that, we believe that it all comes from and is pointing to one grand story! Watch the six minute video below and read the summary.

The Story

The story of all reality, recorded in the Holy Bible, begins with the Most High God, who has always existed exactly as He is now. Here is a very brief summary of that story and how you can be a part of it. To get a better picture of the whole story, please watch the video above.

God spoke everything into existence [Genesis 1:1]. Of all the beauty He created, the masterpiece was a man, Adam, and a woman, Eve, whom He created in His image to worship Him, and enjoy relationship with Him. By God’s design, all of creation was in harmony. But something tragic happened.

One day, an angel named Satan convinced Adam and Eve that God did not have their best interest in mind. They rebelled against God, breaking their relationship with their Creator and each other. The consequences were devastating! Like a virus, sin and suffering were passed down from generation to generation; all of creation was distorted. [Romans 3:10 & 19]

When we think about the peace at the beginning of creation, we realize we are far more flawed and far more sinful than we can dare imagine and the ultimate consequence is eternal separation from a loving God, in terrible misery and unhappiness.

Still, God loved His creation and gave Adam and Eve a promise that one of their descendants would rescue mankind from sin, the Savior of the world. The whole Bible points to this one person as the focal point of all human history. So who was He?

God became human in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus’ birth was miraculous and His life was unique. He perfectly obeyed God without sin. And yet, according to God’s plan, He willingly laid down His life as a substitute for all who would trust in Him. But the grave couldn’t hold Jesus. Jesus walked out of His tomb, fulfilling His earthly mission to defeat sin and death—just as God promised. [1 Peter 3:18; Galatians 1:4]

But the story doesn’t end there. For all those who trust in Jesus alone, God has also promised He will make all things new in a place of perfect harmony with God, others, and all creation. Those who trust in His rescue will enter into the grand purpose of worshipping and enjoying relationship with Him forever. [Revelation 21:4]

God created you to be a part of this story and enjoy relationship with Him in forgiveness, purpose, and satisfaction. Instead of believing you can rescue yourself from the consequences of sin, transfer your trust to the rescue Jesus purchased for you. [Ephesians 2:8-9]
